Orange oil production makes use of the peel which is a by-product of Orange juice manufacture. The oil is pressed out of the peel and separated from the juice. Using the peel contributes to waste reduction.
Orange Australian Essential oil has benefits in aromatherapy, cosmetics and cleaning products. It provides a refreshing & uplifting boost and promotes relaxation in aromatherapy. In cosmetics, it has some anti-microbial properties that are useful for skin and hair care, and its sweet citrusy scent is popular in fragrances. Also, Orange Australian Essential Oil has natural degreasing properties that make it useful in cleaning products.
D-limonene is the primary compound responsible for the sweet, citrusy scent of our Orange Australian Essential Oil. It is found in high concentrations in the oil extracted from the peel of the orange fruit. Other compounds such as myrcene contributes to the aroma. The unique combination of these compounds gives our Orange Australian Essential Oil its characteristic scent and makes it a popular choice in aromatherapy, cosmetics and fragrances. Also, note that D-limonene is a powerful solvent that can dissolve and break down oils, grease and other substances.
Did you know? The average yield of essential oils obtained from orange peels is around 3.55%.
