Q & A : So…. Quite a few people are unsure and have been asking me
what an ultrasonic aromatherapy diffuser is, or what the difference is
between burning essential oils and diffusing them? So I thought I would
write this explanation to try and explain it better –
Ultrasonic diffusers act by generating approximately 1.7 million
ultrasonic vibrations per second as a nebulizer system which ionizes
essential oil molecules into the air using a heat-free diffusion method.
Negative ions are known to help reduce illnesses and protect against
germs in the air, resulting in decreased irritations.
This cool mist becomes a vapour which spreads evenly through the room.
Most act as an essential oil / aroma vaporizer, humidifier, air purifier
and ionizer. Some also have the added feature of being a night or mood
light. Most are generally quiet, aside from some having a soothing
bubbling sound effect of the water which can create an even more
relaxing atmosphere.
Ultrasonic diffusers work by emitting micro droplets of water vapour
into the air. These tiny droplets are highly beneficial for your skin
and general well being.
Diffusing essential oils with anti bacterial properties can kill
airborne virus, bacteria, fungus, and mould. Did you know diffusing a
blend of cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, lemon, and rosemary oils can kill
99% of airborne bacteria in 12 minutes! This blend is also known as
‘Thieves‘ and is also available for sale in our online store. Diffusing lemon essential oil alone is also great for preventing and helping to
cure colds and flu.
When burning or warming essential oils there isn’t as many therapeutic
benefits as there is with ultrasonic diffusing. The essential oils are
generally just being warmed up which releases the scent of the oil
around the room and most of the oil is evaporated so therefore it does
not last as long. The scent may create a relaxing atmosphere, but with
diffusing you are actually breathing in the micro vapour and gaining the
maximum therapeutic benefits of the essential oils.
Hope that information helps to answer your questions! If you have any
other questions, or anything you would like to add or point out my ears
are open. That’s just the best way I could describe it in my own words.
I will include a link below if anyone wants to look at the
ultrasonic diffusers we have for sale. Please feel free to share this
post to help explain to anyone else who might be wondering about
ultrasonic diffusers and why I love them so much!

Kirsten
